Your response was wonderful. I was so surprised at the quick response time. Your customer service was exceptional. Totally unlike the response I received from Panasonic.
Thank you so very much.

Can’t say enough wonderful things about this company. I had questions regarding my purchase and Matt went above and beyond to answer my issues. They are prompt in their email responses and a pleasure to do business with. I highly recommend them and will be back.

Because of the number of counterfeit Eneloop battery sellers , I had to stray from my usual other seller’s prime addiction. I chose DepotEco because the pictures on their website of the Eneloops looked correct, and the reviews looked solid, so I rolled the dice.  Just received my package and these are the genuine “made in Japan” Sanyo Eneloops. The batteries were sent via USPS Priority mail for free with the purchase – a significant upgrade from most sellers. Turnaround was fast and communication was professional. I will be doing more shopping with this seller for Christmas presents with confidence.”

  1. DepotEco is working on Explorer 8 here. We have yet another browser to enjoy. So far I like Chrome best for simplicity and speed. It is one of the things about DepotEco as well. It is easy to get what I want and it arrives really fast.

  2. Lena,
Yes. That sounds about right. We have been supplying Amazon for the entire 2008. Yes it amazing when you think about how many alkalies one Sanyo eneloop battery can replace !. We sell them now on Amazon.com and in our Amazon Safe web store http://www.eneloopstore.com. Also in Bulk and Wholesale at eneloopstore.pro. Our Goal is to get those nasty Alkaline’s out of production!. We want to see the Primary battery replaced with good smart LSD batteries like the eneloop and the Rayovac Hybrid. Also to offset the lack of LSD C and D batteries we do now carry the Rayovac High output C and D rechargeable. These are not LSD batteries but are the next best thing until Sanyo and Rayovac release the C and D LSD..

Lastly we to believe like you that at least the Great State of California should start leading the way with an Alkaline battery TAX.

Is it true that DepotEco just shipped enough Eneloop chargers and rechargeable batteries to Amazon to replace 2,000,000 alkaline batteries? Way to go!
What was the charge to ship the Eneloops? Wouldn’t it cost a thousand times that to ship the disposable batteries? Then you have to pay to send the alkalines to the landfill, if you don’t drop them in the lake.
DON’T USE DISPOSABLE BATTERIES! Be clean and green.
P.S. My non-Eneloop NiMH batteries do not hold a charge. Now I only buy gadgets that use Eneloop sizes. The spacers help with the old C and D size stuff.
Hint: I put freshly charged batteries in my camera and mp3 player when I go out and put the ones I remove in a flashlight or LED candle or other light until in goes dim then I put it in the charger. I have the comfort, if nothing else, of having fresh batteries all the time where I want them. The LED lights are good for burning up the alkalines they stuff in everything now. No point in wasting them. When will they charge a deposit when they sell those things so that people won’t pitch them everywhere? Disposable batteries are the cigarette filters of the twenty first century.

  3. Rhea, yes.. We are now offering the Rayovac Hybrid line We should have them on our shelves by Friday.
Once they are here and in stock we will complete the online listings so you can get you hands on them :).

The Rayovac Hybrid line is perfect for the devices that are not super critical like a camera. While they work fine in all devices they don’t have as much life as an eneloop.

But they are not as much $ as an eneloop. We hope to offer more choices in the Rechargeable battery market. Thus eneloops are perfect for high use items and Rayovac Hybrid line is perfect for less critical devices like your T.V. remote controls etc…

For a Computer Mouse or Keyboard. Stick with eneloops. But for your lower drain less critical devices try the new Rayovac Hybrid line..

And thanks for keeping your eye on DepotEco.com

    Regards.

We will post more soon and open a thread on Rayovac Hybrid LSD batteries very soon..

  4. Are you going to sell Rayovac? They have some good chargers and flashlights. I see descriptions and prices for rayovac hybrids but no pictures. What is the story on the hybrid rechargeable batteries? We will be in the Santa Barbara Channel again next month with an order to pick up when we dock.

  6. Tom, right now the only contractor in Santa Barbara or the Southern Cal Area (that we recommend) for that matter is R&M Solar http://www.rmtec.net/

Richard is a Top notch guy and well not steer you in the wrong direction. There is a movement afoot now of lots of new Cash eyed ” Green Contractors” These must be avoided or at least watched very closely. The issue here is that these new guys see dollar sings with a good PV system but they are not really qualified to install one. Or they might do a poor installation that looks bad. The Solar conference that used my home was part of a larger meeting of contractors that are looking to start installing Solar PV systems. They wanted to use my house because the install was very complicated here and our system won an award from the City of Santa Barbara for its design esthetic’s.

IE, We have a Tile roof. We removed the Tile, installed a compost shingle, installed the PV array on top of that, then reinstalled the Tiles. My system appears to be inset in my roof tile. This makes it appear to be almost hidden inside my roof tile while still allowing Air to pass under the Array to keep the system cool.

Check with R&M Solar if your in Southern Cal
They are 100% the best in the area if not California. So much so that if I move out of state, I will take the contractor to my new home and pay him to install a system there. If I was to move.

Thanks for the question , keep um coming.

  7. Hi Rhea, We are working like mad on our site. We just had a Server Fail. This has caused us some major work to redo the products on the site. Right now you might find some that have no pic. or descriptions. We had to reset the inventory when we reinstalled a new server here.

So after we get all that back up we do have a Test Camera to stick up.

Yes our view is South looking at Santa Cruz Island on the opposite side of the Coast. This looks right over the Santa Barbara Channel. On a Clear day you can see the Eagles flying over the island. Or maybe the Navy using the area for sonar testing!.

Anyway.. Keep your eyes on that Still pic on the front page of the DepotEco.com site. once the camera is live we will make that a link to see the images live…

    Thanks for Noticing.

    Have a Green Day !.

  8. I see you have done a lot of work on your site. It is looking good. Does that mean the web cam will be up and running soon? It would be a great aid to navigation in the Santa Barbara Channel to have a real time view of conditions. It looks like you can see the west end of Santa Cruz Island on a clear day. Is that view about south? We pass through the channel a couple of times a month.

  9. The Santa Barbara wildfires this summer caused daily blackouts over a wide area due to main transmission lines being damaged repeatedly by the fire. Even when Southern California Edison restored power there were a couple weeks of greatly reduced capacity. DepotEco runs on an off grid capable solar system with a grid tie that allows surplus capacity to be sold back to grid. While I was out looking for a gas station with power to their pumps the DepotEco EV (electric vehicle) was being recharged off-grid, FREE.

I hear that since then that you have had a solar industry seminar at your place to see your system in operation. Solar power is such a rapidly evolving industry that the number of QUALIFIED designers and installers is as rare as the newest, most cost effective technologies. How does one find the right equipment, and installer? I have heard stories about obsolete parts, roof leaks, battery problems and more.
Do you give advise or recommend equipment and contractors? I really don’t know where to start – I do know that I want it. Without power business is on hold. This summer I have already lost a week of productive time due to blackouts.

  10. In fact they actually made four of the homes evacuate because the Electrical transformers can be toxic and the fire dept was not sure if it was burning or not.
(Smoke = fire… not sure what the question was….)

Glad I have a radio scanner!

They restored power here at about 2am.. yea I was up :(.

As for your Question Tom, our office and home are off grid capable . Meaning that we have a Solar Array that charges up a large battery pack. That pack feeds about half our electrical systems circuits (Critical stuff, fridge T.V. Security system etc.. ) This includes the local servers for DepotEco.com and our office.

We are still tied to the grid, during the day’s we back feed the grid and get paid via a net metering system with SCE. In most City areas it is not legal to disconnect your home from the grid… stupid but the law is intended to be a fare access thing. So this means they still get to charge me a monthly fee, and they charge me because we are generating power on their system. End the end its still a good deal but the laws need to change even more for off-grid and grid tie system use’s.

Other added benefits of having a Solar powered grid tied system are .

No need for battery backups or surge protectors on your solar tied circuits. The battery pack is a much better surge protector!

My new Electric ZAP Truck will get recharged by my surplus electricity!

And the best thing is i now have a Fixed price for my electricity for the next 25 years !
We went from a $400.00 per month power bill to $400.00 per year. That is huge. And now that we are all set up with LED replacement lamps we expect to see that go down this year. On a net meter system we pay for any electricity we use at the end of the year. As we get better and better at conserving we well get that number to Zero !!!.

  11. I heard that your utility company transformer blew out last night but your office and server were not effected because you are operating a solar power and battery backup system. Is DepotEco operating entirely off the grid? That is really cool! My idea of a green products distributor.

  12. And you don’t need to remember the Password , the system has a lost password function. Just click the lost password link under the sign up area and it will send your back your Password.

  13. I notice everyone wants to talk to the girl. How complicated can a blog full of techies make it?

You have to tell DepotEco who you are to get khak in the mail. If you tell them who you are before you order the khak then you pay less than if you make order and then give the delivery information second. Same khak, lower price, don’t fill out a delivery form for each order; this is good. One more password to remember is the cost.

  14. Glad you asked Wendy, I am asked that by many people. The reason for the sign in or Login system is two fold.

    1. We need your accurate info when the system creates your invoice upon order. And when you order it will ask you for the information if you are not already signed in as a member.

    2. More importantly , when a user to the website signs in it allows you to see our non advertised prices.
This is because many top name Manufactures insist that retailers sell products at there MAP or minimum advertised price. So in order for us to give you great deals we have to ask you to sign in. This takes you to a version of the site that only members can see. Thus that version of the site is not advertised to the public. Because of this we can offer you great deals, after you Login.

It is important to make it clear that when you sign up for the Blog or the Newsletter those database’s are separate. So just because you login or sign up to be a member, you will not be sent the newsletter or have access to the blog until you sign up there. Some people don’t want the newsletter or need to blog, so this way we don’t spam someone that does not want it.

Please remember we don’t sell or give away any personal information, this includes email address and phone numbers. If you give it to us we are the only one ‘s that will use it.

So please do sign up, and make sure you use real valid information. The system will purge any fake email , phone numbers or otherwise gibberish that is listed instead of real data.

    Thanks for the great question.
    DepotEco.com Webmaster.

  15. I have been ordering things from Depot Eco for about six months, taking advantage of the member pricing discounts, and have had good service and satisfaction on merchandise the entire time. Wendy, sign in and save money before you buy all those LED candle rechargeable eneloop batteries.

  16. RE: login button. If you register then you get order tracking information and ADDITIONAL DISCOUNTS. Most items if not all items in the depoteco catalog are below list to begin with, then members get specials. It doesn’t cost anything and I have not noticed anything irritating as a result. I don’t know if registering for the blog signs you up or not but you need a password to sign in so get a password and use it before starting your order. Then you can compare to advertised prices.

  17. What is the reason for the LOGIN button on the main page? I don’t see one on this page? Why should I give information.

  18. The CCRadio-SW is sweet, great sound, lots of controls, complete instruction manual and simply the only radio I have with good enough reception to use at my house without an external antenna. It has too many features to mention, many I wouldn’t want to do without now although, I didn’t know it until I used them. I don’t have to change batteries, the internal battery charger works great on my Eneloop batteries (I don’t use throw-away batteries) so I take the CCRadio-SW everywhere. I am glad I bought the optional soft case. It was good getting CCrane quality and guarantee while saving a few dollars too. You rock DepotEco!

  19. hey! great new website. much easier to navigate. wow. you must work really hard.
Thanks For the great products, I still love my LED under cabinet DIY lighting kit you sold me.
Thank you DepotEco.com great green gifts we need more like you.

  20. Looks good! Easier to get around and find products, better descriptions of the products as well
